Visit our a virtual exhibition of “Painting Music” by Bogusław Lustyk.
“Emotions, euphoria, despair, longing but also spiritual concentration are the staple of my daily strivings. Painting, I try to create my own music of the image.... Music which could inspire a virtuoso to find his own interpretation.”
The cycle “Painting Sounds” takes inspiration from the music of Fryderyk Chopin and constitutes the artist’s own music of the image. The cycle is made up of fifteen variations, which all go back to a print of the autograph of Sonata in B minor. All the works utilise the technique of Di-Creo-Art, which combines digital methods and traditional techniques, such as painting, drawing or photography. The exhibition was first shown at the International “Amber Baltic” Festival in Międzyzdroje, becoming a great success. The launch reception featured a performance by excellent pianist Waldemar Malicki, whose recording is available below for you to enjoy.
The second room of our virtual exhibition showcases photographs from the concerts accompanying the exhibition.
Born in 1940 in Poland, Bogusław Lustyk now lives and works in the United States. He was educated at Warsaw’s Academy of Fine Art, where he studied poster art and painting. Mr Lustyk has won more than 20 awards and honourable mentions in Polish and international poster competitions, yet his art is not limited to painting as he is also involved in graphic design (both books and illustrations), installations and ceramic sculptures. His works combine different techniques: he uses the collage, changes from pastels to acrylic paints, or uses his original Di-Creo-Art technique, which utilises digital techniques and makes each work, despite being derived from an original piece, remain distinctively unique works of art.
