The first concert in the whole cycle of concerts organized by the Polish National Fryderyk Chopin Institute to celebrate the Composer’s birth anniversary takes place on the 1st of March, 2011, at 7.30 pm. in the Concert Hall of the Warsaw Philharmonic.

The first part of the concert features Krzysztof Penderecki’s composition "Powiało na mnie morze snów... Pieśni zadumy i nostalgii" (en. "A Sea of Dreams has Fallen on Me... Songs of Reverie and Nostalgia") for soprano, mezzo-soprano, baritone, choir and orchestra. The world premiere took place in the Warsaw Philharmonic on January 14, 2011. The following artists perform at the concert: Wioletta Chodowicz (soprano), Agnieszka Rehlis (mezzo-soprano), Mariusz Godlewski (baritone), the Choir of the Warsaw Philharmonic conducted by Henryk Wojnarowski and the orchestra Sinfonia Varsovia. The whole performance is conducted by Krzysztof Penderecki.

The second part of the concert features Piano Concerto in F minor Op. 11 by Fryderyk Chopin performed by an outstanding pianist Daniił Trifonow, the 3rd prize winner in the 16th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition held in Warsaw. He is accompanied by the orchestra Sinfonia Varsovia conducted by Krzysztof Penderecki.
