Ingolf Wunder performs with the PNRSO

Ingolf Wunder, the second prize winner in the 16th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition will perform a concert with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice on Saturday, October 30.

The pianist will perform the Piano Concerto in E minor by Fryderyk Chopin with the radio orchestra. The Piano Concerto performed by him has already been very appreciated by the audience of the Competition’s final stage. At the concert, orchestra conducted by Jacek Kasprzyk will also perform the first in the world premiere of the orchestra version of the Nocturne in C minor Op. 48 No. 1 by Fryderyk Chopin in the instrumentation by Charles Bodman Rae. This outstanding composer, pianist and conductor dedicated the Nocturne’s orchestra version to the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Chopin’s birth. The evening will be concluded with the Robert Schumann Symphony No. 4.

Shortly before the concert the Society of Friends of the PNRSO (pl. Towarzystwo Przyjaciół NOSPR) invites everybody to room 411 CKK (4th floor) for the lecture delivered by Grażyna Brewińska form the Academy of Music in Katowice.  

The concert starts at 19.30 in the PNRSO’s seat at the 2 Sejm Śląski Square, in the Grzegorz Fitelberg Room.
