The Department of Composing of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, Poland Karola Lipińskiego we Wrocławiu in association with the Wrocław Branch of the Polish Composers’ Union have launched a composing competition “... when I think Chopin...”.

The competition is addressed at Polish composers born after 31st December 1974. The entries should be 8 to15–minute long compositions (either single pieces or cycles), written  for piano (category one) and cello and piano (category two).

Selected competition compositions are going to be performed by artists associated with the Academy at a finale concert of the Polish National Academic Conference of Music Theory Students “Oblicza romantyczności od Fryderyka Chopina do czasów współczesnych” [Different shades of romanticism from Chopin to the present day] to be held on 21st April 2010 at the Academy of Music in Wrocław.
